  1. I have been to Prague in the former Czech-Slovakia Republic in 1986 and enjoyed the cheap prices in the Disco bars.

  2. Yes.  In Romania, there were disco clubs, especially on the seaside because that was the place that people kicked back and enjoyed their vacations, so lots of things were available at the seaside that weren't readily available in other areas such as color souvenir photographs, Pepsi, popular music concerts and dance clubs.  There were also clubs that opened up just on the weekends in other cities and bars and cafes that played music and encouraged dancing.  The music from that era was pretty wild.  It was a mix of local interpretations on disco, rock and pop tunes, as well as some "b side" Western European singles that would be difficult to find today.  But I look at pictures of my family from that era and they were pretty cool.  They had bell bottom jeans, wide collars and long hair so as tightly as the media was controlled by the government, there were western influences in music and fashion at that point.
