There was a major schism in the years 70 - and several trends were created - The " Scouts d'Europe " which probably still are the closer to extreme-right catholics, who evidently are against everything which is for... reject the possibility of unisex patrols -

The second Union which is more opportunistic, moderate catholic centrists, accept boys and girls - but they lost a wide part of their old symbols - though they remain very socially typicized -

There are second range ( in terms of population ) unions of protestant and jewish scouts, but I ignore all about them.

The Fédération du Scoutisme Français (Federation of French Scouting) with 120,000 members is co-educational as is the Conférence Française de Scoutisme (French Conference on Scouting) which has about 35,000 members.
