Do you think that Ice man's commitment to his troops made him a less effective commander. Why or why not?

it is owing to the uncertainty of the situation and lack of a national chauvinist conviction that led to the situation.  when u fight u fight with head and heart.  here no heart.  head is simply blind obedience.  so its tough to evaluate if it's effective.  i think it is as this is a war that is in need of a quick withdrawal.  this doesnt mean the men are not effective.  we hv to commend and admire and pray for their continued bravery and safety.
