  1. Being God eternal, a day has no meaning. Even less the duration of a day in this tiny planet that didn't even exist at that time.

Furthermore, the Creation still goes on. Probably forever.

  2. As long as Christians want the day to be.

Seriously. There is absolutely nothing in the Bible to indicates how long a day was. So, a 'Biblical Day' is simply how long a Christian wants it to be.

  3. The Apostle Peter tells is the following in is Epistle –

    2 Peter 3:8-10

8  But, beloved, let not this one thing be hidden from you, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9  The Lord is not slow concerning His promise, as some count slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

10  But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. And the earth and the works in it will be burned up.

We find seven literal days of creation is the basis of the seven day week.

    Exodus 20:10-11

10  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11  For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

    and

    Exodus 31:16-17

16  Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

17  It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

The seven day week is part of Gods measurement of time for mankind.

The only reason for the hypothesis that you state -

“that God knew of the scientist of today would study creation now God's day could have been 100'000'000 years”

Is to fit into the limited reading of the first few verses of Genesis 1.

Could it be that Genesis 1 verses 1 – 3 should be understood as follows –

Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

    ………………… Period of time …………………

Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form and empty. And darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters.

Gen 1:3 And God said, Let there be light. And there was light.

The fossil records were laid down during this period of time.

Therefore there is no reason to postulate a theory of evolution.

There is therefore no reason to think that creation did not take place in Seven literal days.

The law given to Moses supports the fact that it was.

  4. God's definition of day (and night) are in Gen. 1.

They are notnecessarily '24 hours (dayand night) in length. Also, the 3 night and3 days Jesus would be 'dead' was in clock time about 39 hours; yet his statement of 3 nighrts and days were true.

  5. God does not have days.  God created time as the basis of creation as we know it. imo

  6. God is for delusional people to stupid to seek knowledge through fact to say Gods day may be longer than 24hrs shows how stupid the religion is because you think an all knowing God would know the difference between a day or a million years or does this sky fairy not do maths

  7. He doesn't live on a planet (or he lives on all planets) so the idea that he splits His time into day and night is illogical. You may as well ask what time he has breakfast and when his taxes are due.

If you were to ask hy did he chose 24 hours as one day then he didn't. That is an abstraction of man's (astrologers) doing.

  8. Why would he call it a day if it was really 100,000,000?  It would only create confusion.

  9. Eh, a "day" is a chronological unit equal to one complete rotation of a planet on its axis.

So the answer depends on which planet God lives.

  10. Apparently God dwells in eternity.

I do not know if there is any demarcation of time.

I don't think beings who are immortal ever sleep, so I doubt that there is any night.

I would assume that they mark time by how long a task takes to get done.  I mean, if I was immortal, that would be how I would do it.

  11. A day in Genesis is one 24 hour day. If you look at the language in context it says just that. Through out the bible when the word day is used with evening and morning, light and dark, or a number it means a 24 hour day. But when people talk about genesis it suddenly means billions of years. That makes no sense what so every. God uses language to speak to us and use His words very carefully, so interpret it in context.

  12. I firmly believe that if the creation story is true...

from God's perspective, it is still day seven.

  13. Each day of creation was 24 hours. Exodus 20:8-11

  14. In Hebrew which the Bible was written in, the word day, refers to a period of time.

For example, when you refer to your fathers day or your grandfathers day, you do not mean a literal day but the whole time period when they weree alive or when they were young.

As god has been alive forever the word 'day', could be taken as thousands of years. I think that most likely.

  15. How long is any day? How long are our days?

The day is only as long as today.

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

For some, when they had heard, did provoke ...

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Lest a day come upon that you are not ready for and it become a day that is longer than any other.

A day of great length would destroy that which relies upon normal days.

No grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth could survive.

And is man not like grass?

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

So God has shown us in His order of creation.

And we need His living word, every word that proceeds out of His mouth, to live.

With that word then you will know.

  16. VI question.  "In the eyes of God, 1000 years is as one day,..' psalm 90...written by Moses.

    Peter 2 repeats this point.

  17. Someone  told me once that if a bird was to move all the sand from the beaches one grain at a time to another place breakfast was just getting started in heaven.

  18. Probably like a million years- it proabbly took him like  7 million to create the whole world and universe or whatever- thats if the genesis stroy is true.

    =]

  19. He can make his day as long as he wants it to be one day and then, totally different the next day.

  20. I believe God's time  is not like ours  yes it could have been 1000 years  or more.  the bible originally said  time  period  not day.
