In Grand Slams, why do men play 5 sets and women 3?

I'm not really sure why there is still a difference there.  Now that men and women are paid the same for grand slam victories, they should play the same length of match.  I'm sure the women could handle a long, grueling 5-set match.  After all, don't women have more stamina than men?

because women gets tired easily than men..

men have longer stamina..

b/c you won't want to see a 5-set women match...

if women plays 5 sets, will pretty much ends at 3-0 anyway, just gonna drag on with poor quality.
