  1. they are very friendly when you are spending your money

    like most countries i guess

the olive oil products and the jewlery are amazing a bit pricey but well worth it

  2. There are friendly and not here - just like everywhere else.

Shopping - depends on what you want to buy and where you'll be.

Expensive? (see above) and if you are using US$ or UK£ you'll find things expensive because of your weak currency.

  3. Greeks can be friendly once you break into their inner circle.  Prior to that they are extremely cold and brusque.  Also, it's like the old saying, "how can you tell if an Athenian is lying to you".  They used to say "when his lips are moving".  This was in response to some rascals who used to cheat unsuspecting tourists in the Plaka, and Monospiraki area.

But, I have to admit Greeks love to talk and give speeches.  So, if you are willing to listen to rambling histronics and non-stop talking, they can be great company, and the extra bonus is they usually will pay the bill (first few times til they see you are a deadbeat).

  4. Of course we are friendly :D

Well... there are some expensive things in Greece, but it's according to where you come from... If you are british or generally come from a Western European Country, then you won't have any financial problem ;)

  5. yeah... we are very friendly... We are famous for our hospitality you know... There is some expensive products... but you will find some streets that have low prices

anyway we have exactly the same clothes as you do but we have our national brands too

  6. If you ask if they are helpful and smilling and very easy to get on with, yes they are very helpful, even in "big" cities.

But you have to be kind and not negative thinking as Ralph is, for example.

Greeks like company and yes, they are talking a lot to each other.

So, for someone who wants to see people talking like "fishes", only moving their lips in a wispering banance, I suggest he visited ...another country!

  7. are americans friendly?? you got your bad apples in each batch.  usually in august, all the stores have a sale but it's not much of a discount.  everything there is overpriced but while your in Greece, it's worth it.

  8. Well of course Greeks are friendly, being a Mediterranean country we are well known for our warmth and hospitality, however that of course changes to the more urban and touristic areas you go to. But Greeks in general are hospitable, warm and caring people, kind-hearted with a zest for life. But of course that dont mean that you wont find your regular assh0les there too lol  :)

Shopping is good, everything in the latest style, lots of interesting souvenirs and things to take home to. Yes it is expensive, like many other EU countries we use the Euro (1 Euro is appx: 1.6 dollars)
