Question:

In Herbs, which part of the plant is more potent?

the leaves, the root, or the bark? I am just finding out about herbs, so i have a lot of questions that need to be answered.

  2. Actually, that entirely depends on the herb... there's no single answer that covers them all.

    A couple of examples, Cinnamon is most beneficial from the bark, Hawthorn is most beneficial from the berries (fruit), and Nettle has the most benefits in the root and the leaves (but each of those two have different health benefits).

    Typically, whichever part of the plant is sold in products you would buy in the store is where the main benefits would lie in the plant. What I mean is that you'll probably never see a product selling Cinnamon leaves or root (unless some new chemical is found in that part, but that's a different story).
