  1. he waves the odds from the bets

  2. Just watch for 'persons' who are 'CHEWING' with 'their' mouths closed....

  3. At the race track..Communicating through sign language to other bookmakers the bets ,being placed...Thinks its great way to communicate....

  4. He is of course the on course bookmakers semaphor man. I always thought it was that extrovert John McCririck looking for the third reel on the fruit machine (Toe).

  5. the old man with the gloves on passing the odds to another bookie

    in the stands.

  6. You'd find him on a racecourse. He's telegraphing (by arm movements) the odds to other on course bookies. He always wears white gloves, to be seen better.

  7. he is a person who uses arm movements to talk to another similar man the other side of the course or too far away to talk to.he was really used before 2 way radio was invented but you can still see the odd one working away.you will find him close to or right by his employer ,a bookie and if you watch carefully you will see who and what he is saying and who to.

  8. you'll find him beside his tic-tac van..he's the guy that goes around the race track selling tic-tacs!

  9. On Course Bookies's man.  The tic tac man gives betting odds from a distance to his colleagies using hand signals.  If you can get UK television - watch John McCririck

  10. The man who flaps his hands around and looks weird.

  11. He takes bets or is near those who take bets.Sends the odds on horses down the course to others with hand signals.
