I know that the Montrose area is known for it's g*y establishments. When someone says Montrose Area, are there particular streets that make up this area? Or just Montrose Street?

  1. montrose at westheimer is one intersection in the heart of montrose.......drive down westheimer

  2. The Montrose area is known to be open to all lifestyles so that means that it is a very comfortable and welcoming place for homosexuals. I just recently moved to the Montrose area with my husband because Montrose is also known for it's restaurants, thrift shops, nightlife, pretty older neighborhoods, and liberal laid relaxed vibe.  The majority of our complex is straight young couples like us and yes, some g**s.

That being said, I consider the heart of Montrose to be along Westheimer from the Westheimer/Shepherd intersection down to where Midtown begins.  I'm not sure the name of the streets where Midtown starts, but it's where you start seeing "Midtown" signs everywhere.  There are many, many streets that intersect Westheimer between these two points.  Yes, Montrose is the largest, busiest of these streets.  (This is where you can find Niko Niko's!)  Most of the other streets are residential and include some small shops, restaurants, and schools.

If you search on an apartment/house rental website, you can find the exact streets where the Montrose area is said to be located.  However, some of that area just wouldn't have done it for me and I don't consider some of the outlying area to have very much of that Montrose feel.

  3. The link below shows a map of the Montrose neighborhood which is part of Neartown:
