No.  It is deposited in designated banks only. check with your employer.

. the amount is to be deposited by the copmany which is deducting the pf amount from the salary. It cannot be deposited by an individual.

EPF is employee contribution and this is invariably accounted for in the account created for you with the EPFO.

What you open with SBI is called PPF (Public PF) and you need to explicitly deposit amount in this and this will be over and above what is deducted by your Firm. Of course if your firm can halt your contribution and allow you to invest wherever you want, this will be a different case altogether.

Yes but only organizations can deposit it. In every branch of SBI A/c No 1, 10, 21, 22 and many more are of EPFO. Employee doesn't have any need to deposit the contributiion.

Its an Employer duty to deduct PF and other funds from employee salary and submit them to SBI concerned acc either by cash or by cheque by filling a special challan and then submit copy of those challans to EPFO concerned office.

it is not with all sbi bank and it should be paid in the form of cheque only
