I'm in Illinois and trying to get into teaching. I need to get a few things expunged from my record. I was wondering if you actually have to go to court or if it's just a process of doing paperwork?

  1. Paperwork.  Most states have the laws for what can and cannot be expunged on their websites.  You might try looking and see if whatever your issues are qualify or not.  If they do qualify, then the state must grant the expungement.
