i'm really getting mad about how we have to wait 9 months to get our lisence... it's so stupid. i have a job and i'm the only person that has to get picked up by my parents. is there any way that i can get my lisence earlier than 9 months? i read on some websites that it's only 3 months. i guess they haven't updated yet. but some websites say 6 months. is there any way? help!

  1. I know in Texas we only have to hold or permit for 6 months.... sucks for ya'll.

  2. The new law says nine months for 16 and 17 year olds.  The old requirement was 3 months.  You can obtain the permit when you are still 15.  Go to the IL secretary of state's website for the most up to date info.
