In India, where do women get their nose pierced?

These days it is very common, Traditionally it is done by the Goldsmith, now all the Gold shops these days arrange for a sterilized ear and Nose pierced.

In Chennai you can get it done with Tanga Maligai, Saravana stores, Nathela Sampathu chetty ans sons, so many so many.

All over India it is very easy and nothing great.*

Hi. Most people get their nose/ears pierced by  a person called "Thattan" in the South, he works alongside  goldsmiths and knows the exact spot to pierce through years of practice. They do it deftly with a sterilized needle and very quickly. Just ask in large, reputed gold jewelry shops, eg. Thanga Maligai in T-Nagar, Chennai, is an old establishment that has a separate area where many piercings are done everyday... These "Thattans" can also make house visits as when a child's first ear-piercing is done -- after which the child wears her first gold earstuds-- people have a ceremony and celebrate this event. Another, not coventional, way is to have a family doctor do it -- my nose got pierced this way.
