In Indian Railways, Can any body tell me what is the procedure for signalling.?

At some stretches, the driver speeds up and at some places, the driver slows down. who briefs the driver regarding these things , that too especially at night

Seems willy nilly doesn't it. With the huge voloume of passenger traffic India must have sign posts where the seperated tracks are.

They are road side signals across the tracks written in yellow and number on it and controlling stations gives a chart to Driver and guard of train/These charts carry minute to minue details of every Kilometer  and Speed allowed on that km.
