In Ireland is it a requirement for the supervising driver to be insured in the vehicle the learner is driving?

I need a definite answer on this as loads of people just say ifs and buts and give their opinions which doesn't help. I have checked all the law changes and none of them say it is a requirement but some friends insist that it is as they "heard" of people being pulled on it.

no,once the car is insured for the road,you have a full license then there is no problem
