  1. I"m jamaican and I've lived there, so , yeah there is really no winter. Just sunshine and then a few breaks of rain. So the heaviest piece of clothes should be, maybe, a couple long sleeved shirt and sweatpants or jeans.

  2. We have neither Summer nor Winter

    Neither Autumn nor Spring.

    We have instead the days

When the gold sun shines on the lush green canefields-

    Magnificently.

The days when the rain beats like bullets on the roofs

And there is no sound but the swish of water in the gullies

And trees struggling in the high Jamaica winds.

Also there are the days when leaves fade from off guango trees

And the reaped canefields lie bare and fallow to the sun.

But best of all there are the days when the mango and the

    logwood blossom

When the bushes are full of the sound of bees and the scent of

    honey,

When the tall grass sways and shivers to the slightest breath of

    air,

When the buttercups have paved the earth with yellow stars

And beauty comes suddenly and the rains have gone.

  3. Not  much difference just take a sweater for some cool (60's) nights.

  4. Jamaica is almost the same all year round -- about 84-87F.  Actually sometimes in Summer -- that makes Jamaica cooler than the places we leave behind in the states.

We would leave 98 humid degrees in upstate NY in July, and find 84 degrees with cool night breezes.  It's pretty nice alllllll year round!

  5. Same clothes we wear in the summer, its cooler in November, December and January, but not cool enough for an over coat. Christmas for those who celebrates it, is spent with families, city dwellers visit rural friends and families and feast, party and church are some of ways christmas is celebrated. For others not so religious it's party, party, party. Reggae music galore.

  6. Mountains are a little chilly in jamaica

    wear fall clothes

    trust me i know

my grandmother lives up in the mountains

in christmas its cool/hot it matters what day

    never cold

we give out presents just like u guys

do santa and the whole bit

But we also have a festival called jonkuno that we do every christmas

    and we go to church

  7. It is hot in the islands year round....great at Christmas. Clothing? It depends where you are staying....many of the resorts are nude....make sure that you ask your ASTA travel agent before you book.

  8. well u pretty much jsut bye summer clothign it hot here so yah

and we just party thats wat we do best and go to church pretty much to have a party!

  9. Oh Vanitee. I can tell you are one of the Jamaican students that was  COERCED mercilessly into reciting poems in primary school. Drilled by your teacher into learning poems to the point that years later you find yourself mindlessly (almost robotically) reciting those poems, wondering how you still know them verbatim. Oh dear.

    I Wonder

by Jeannie Kirby (so scary that I remember the poet's name and reciting it as i'm typing it)

I wonder why the grass is green,

And why the wind is never seen

Who taught the birds to build a nest,

And told the trees to take a rest?

And when the moon is not quite round,

Where can the missing bit be found?

Who lights the stars, when they blow out,

And makes the lightning flash about?

Who paints the rainbow in the sky,

And hangs the fluffy clouds so high?

Why is it now, do you suppose,

That Dad won’t tell me if he knows?

I dare you to contact me if you remember this poem because I know you do. Every child in our generation does.

PS There is no winter in Jamaica

  10. No winter in Jamaica; the only cooler places are in the mountains inland.  Because of pervasiveness of North American cultural imperialism, many good old West Indian traditions have faded.

  11. Shorts and a t-shirt.

Its warm all year round. what would be our fall and winter months here in the states is more like a warm spring mild summer. In the summer though in Jamacia it's HOT and humid
