I plan to go from Tokyo (Tokyo Station) to Kamakura, then Kamakura to Yokohama all in the same day. Could you tell me the best stations to use and which trains to use? Most important is how to get from Kamakura to Yokohama in the early evening. I am staying near Jr Ishikawacho Stn. in Yokohama.

Thank you!

  1. It's very simple. JR Yokosuka line runs between Tokyo and Kamakura via Yokohama. Don't take Tokaido line train that separates with Yokosuka line  at Ofuna bound for West two stops before Kamakura . There are many trains like every 20 to 30 minutes both ways up and down between Tokyo, Yokohama side and Kamakura side from early morning to late night.

You may go back to Ishikawacho from Kamakura through JR Negishi and Keihin Tohoku line which runs Ofuna to Yokohama bound for Tokyo and the North  via Ishikawacho the line has almost same convenient timely service too.

  2. Refer to this blog. And click "Central Japan Railway's Connection" of the right column.
