I have to write a thought piece about the nature of the story of Life of Pi. The prompt asks. What is the relationship between the story-world and reality? Is it a metaphor for reality? A microcosm of reality? If anybody could help that'd be great!

  1. Sorry I can't help you as I've never read the book but,

you should try and put this in Books&Authors as there are probably more people who have read the book over there.

    that could help also.

    Good luck.

  2. Well, throughout the novel, Pi refers to a lot of stories as "the better story". The central theme to Life of Pi is that sometimes we make stories to mask the truth of the real hideous world.

That is one reason Pi joins 3 religions, so he has 3 different realities to choose from, not just one, or none.

Basically, how we perceive our worlds are merely stories told from different points of view, which make a reality.

Yeah, that's all i got. not sure if i answered your question the way you wanted, but i'm not doing your report for you. haha. good luck.
