In Literati - how are timed games scored.?

I can have a higher score but run out of time and lose! Help!

If both players use up all the letters before time runs out, the one with the higher score wins. If your time runs out when you still have letters to play, no matter if your score is higher, you lose. In a timed game you have to beat the clock too.
