  1. No, 99.9% of people use cars. A lot of areas in LA don't have parking lots and you have to park along the street and put money into the meter. You might have to park a long way from where you wanna go too in certain places.

  2. no definitely not there is a lot of traffic there

  3. Personally, Los Angeles is such a big, large area where things to do and places to go to are usually not reasonably close by.  I mean even if they are, we are used to getting in our cars and reaching our destination on our own time and when we need to take care of something.  And if you have children, you need a car for emergencies and other goings on.  In short, I believe that the gas crunch has led to more people taking the metro here; however, I still think that most LA folks are still fiercely independent and drive if they can.  Plus, the egos out here are enormous; you know, we like to take our drives down Sunset :).  Seriously, there are some parking spaces, like at the metro subway stations but, it's becoming more crowded as we speak.  Especially in Pasadena, near where the Rose Bowl is located and during the day in downtown Los Angeles.  You can, however, always find a spot to park for a price.  And, it's not like a small town, don't expect to get a ride from folks.  Sometimes you can find a nice area where you can walk to places, like Altadena, Pasadena, cities nearby but, most of us here are spoiled.  At least I know I am.

I wouldn't worry so much if there's parking, I'd worry about how much it will cost you if you plan om working there (perhaps you'll get a discount if you do).  Anyway, good luck!

  4. The subway in Los Angeles is relatively new, and only covers about seven miles, so a very small percentage of Los Angelinos actually take it.

There is a light-rail system in L.A. which is a bit more comprehensive, but still most Los Angelinos do not use it.

Of all the mass transportation options in Los Angeles, the bus system is most heavily used.

  5. I use only the subways and buses, but there seems to be such a weird stigma against those things in this town.  Parking is so expensive and parking on the street seems to always somehow end in a ticket, so I gave up my car about two years ago and haven't regretted it since.

  6. What subway.  LA was built around the concept of the car.  It is a huge sprawling city made up of dozens of cities together.  I am not aware of a subway (risky w/ the earthquakes).  You can get around on a bus but beyond that take your chances on the freeway.

  7. not many know about the subway or metro system is what its called

many use it for work if they are smart

but youll find alot of teens most of them are going to school but some are taggers on a mission

    lol

it can be convenient but at the same time not really

info can be found at the metro web site

  8. Many/ most people still use cars. Parking depends on where you're going. You can also take the Metrolink or Busses, but there are outlying regions in LA county that haven't been hooked up to the Met yet.

  9. i got to skool taking the gold line then the redline

  10. My friend use to live and work in NYC but now she moved to Beverly Hills, CA.  She loved NY because transportation was a lot cheaper .She would take the subway but now she needs a car to get around.
