In MGS2, why did Ocelot sell info about Metal Gear to many entities?

why would that interest the patriots? please no mgs4 spoliers. if it is answered in mgs4, although it doesnt seem so, just tell me it is.

  1. sadly, it doesnt tell u up until MGS4......at the end......or u can read the MGS4 Database...but that has spoilers too...
