  1. Yes you can. Standard Legal set (right now) are:

    Tenth edition

    Coldsnap

    Time Spiral

    Planar Chaos

    Future Sight

    Lorwyn

    Morningtide

    Shadowmoor

    and Eventide when its released.

Also remember that the cards from the boxset 'elves vs goblins' are standard legal as well.

  2. you can mix anything if your not playing tournys.

but anything from the past couple blocks are legal.

  3. Sets that are presently tourney legal in type II/standard format are: Lorwyn (Lorwyn, Morningtide, Shadowmoor), Timespiral (Timespiral, Planar Chaos, Future Sight), Cold Snap and 10th edition

Eventide will complete the Lorwyn block and after Eventide then Cold Snap and Time Spiral will no longer be tournament legal.
