  2. hmm interesting question...not sure, but i'd say it's an indication of macbeth's transformation from his former self, & his desperation as he's confronted with impending defeat. the front wounds suggest he's meeting his problems head-on without fear of being caught, unlike his earlier crimes where he was sort of sneaking around & being hesitant and fearful.

    just my personal take on it :-)
