  1. wow why don't you just read the freaking book?

  2. Paradise Lost is a poem by John Milton and it is the poem that helps Frankenstein's monster learn to communicate (He learns language by hearing it).  It is also used as the opening quote "Did I request thee, Maker, from my clay/To mould (sic.) Me man?  Did I solicit thee/From darkness to promote me?" (x. 743-5)

Mrs. Saville is the sister of Captain R. Walton - he tells her the story of Victor Frankenstein after Frankenstein comes aboard his ship in the Arctic.  Walton's telling the story to his sister makes up the frame of the novel.

Ingoldstadt - City where Victor Frankenstein attend University and can be considered to be the birthplace of Frankenstein's monster.

    Ernest - Victor Frankenstein's brother

Mont Blanc - I can't swear to this but I think Victor goes to Mont Blanc/Swiss Alps to the rest after the murder of William and the subsequent trial.

Agatha - The daughter of Mr. De Lacey.  While she has tenderness for her family, she is afraid of the monster and even faints at the sight of him.

Felix - Is De Lacey's son.

De Lacey - He is the father of the De Lacey family.  He is blind and therefore does not recoil at the sight of Frankenstein's monster.  It is also through De Lacey's reading of Paradise Lost to his family that the monster learns language.

Daniel Nugent - He is a witness that says he saw a man in a small boat (Victor in his boat) right before the death of Clerval.  (Clerval's body is subsequently identified by Victor and he declares himself the murderer of William, Clerval etc because he created the creature and then abandoned him.)

Margaret - Margaret is the first name of Mrs. Seville.  (A little author's joke - her initials are MS = Mary Shelley)

  3. Margaret (Mrs. Saville) is Robert Walton's (the first narrator of the story) sister, who he writes to.

Ingolstadt is the birth place of the monster created by Victor Frankenstein.

Ernest is Victor Frankenstein's brother, who is 7 years younger than Victor.

Mont Blanc is a mountain near Geneva and known for its lovely scenery.

Agatha is Felix's sister and and DeLacey's daughter.

Felix is the young man who lives in the small cottage near the monster's hovel.

DeLacey is the old, blind man of the cottage and father of Agatha and Felix.

Daniel Nugent was an Irish fisherman and witness against Victor Frankenstein for the murder of Clerval.

Frankenstein's monster read Milton's book, Paradise Lost, and compared his situation to that of Adam.
