in the goriest part of Apocalypto when they're on top of the pyramid and rip out the captured Mayan's hearts, do they also cut off their heads?

They do cut off their heads and roll them down/ throw them off the pyramid. Another gorey part is when they get them to run for thier lives and spear them through the head, neck and eye - YUCK!
