In Mexico too long without a VISA?

I've been in Mexico for 4 months without a VISA, after my plans changed, and only said I'd be here for 80 days. I fly home on Jan 2nd, will I have trouble in the airport returning home? I do have my passport, but no VISA.

  1. You should have gotten a tourist card when you entered Mexico...on the plane if you flew to Mexico.  They are good for up to 180 days.  sometimes theyare marked for only 90 days unless you speak up and SAY you want the full 180 days...where is your tourist card?  You should still have it and just be able to look at it to see how long it is good for.  You do not need a visa unless you plan to stay in Mexico more than 6 months.

  2. YES! i think you have to renew it every couple of months! or days!

  3. You automatically got a tourist card when you arrived by plane.  This is good for 180 days (6 months) Hopefully you were smart enough to keep that handy.  If not, you will find you will need to pay a fine to get another one.

  4. As far as I know the US airlines don't care how long you're been out of the country.

  5. check in with the nearest branch of the U.S. consulate or state department. ask them, its their job to assist you with things like this.

    good luck
