I have seen absolutely no proof on this, I just heard it from one of those people who believe they know everything and you can't tell them otherwise. He said that gas is going up 80 cents tonight but I did read something that said gas is up 60-80 cents from last year, maybe he didn't pay attention about this. But it would be nice to know if he's right or not (I doubt it though!)

  1. Only some sort of catastrophic issue would cause gasoline to spike over 50 cents/gallon in a single night.  In all my years in the gas business, I've never seen it spike more than 40 cents, even during Katrina.  (prices did go up about a dollar, but it took several days for the increase to occur, and it was because there was no foreseeable resumption of pipeline activity.)

  2. Hey it is all according to where you live. I have seen a difference of up to 40 cents a gallon difference between one side of town and the other side. Prices are set due to demand and availability and anything else they can think of to raise the price. With everything in the middle east escalating just thinking something might happen over there will affect the price of gas. Just keep you tank full when the price seems reasonable and that is about all you can do. Even if the price goes up $1.00 a gallon you will still have to buy it or stay home.

  3. No, it's up 2.4 cents.  It's true it is up 74 cents from last year.
