In Microsoft Publisher, how do I change the option of having long words split in two, when a long word reaches the end of a text box it adds a dash(-), I know there should be a way to change this, but can't find it.

Some of the words aren't even that long, like "minutes".

I am using Publisher 2007.

  1. if it's at the end of a line it does that... just go to the front of the word and hit enter....

    it should look like this

    before:   min-

    ute

    After:

    minute

not sur if that's what u meant but i hope i helped

  2. You can turn off hyphenation through the 'Tools' menu.  Click on 'Options' and click on the 'Edit' tab.  Remove the check-mark at 'Automatically hyphenate in new text boxes' and click 'OK'. This needs to be done before you type any text, so if you have hyphenated text already you may need to create a new text box and copy and paste from the old into it.
