  1. My husband's passport number starts with the letter U as well, and has 6 numbers.  To be real, it should be dark green with his passport number on the cover.  The number is made my tiny holes that perforate the cover and every page within.  Inside you will see (on the right side of the second page) his personal information including his name, address, date of birth, city of birth and a CIN number.  The information will be written in Roman letter but words like 'name,' 'address' etc will be written in French on the right side and Arabic script on the left side.  On the page facing this (on the left) should be his picture and his signature, and a round red stamp.  When you flip that page, you will  find (in the right) a page to list children) and on the facing page, the date the passport was issued and date it expires.  It should only be a 5 year time frame.  There should also be a government stamp for 300 dirhams, with a round red stamp over it.

To get a passport in Morocco a person needs to go to the government building for he city or area he lives in.  There are several steps and papers involved in the process and it can be a bit frustrating.

  2. Apply for a passport at the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Moroccan government.
