  1. MAY BE THEY ARE NOT GOOD COPY.

  2. your system needs cleaning

  3. just watch the new ones that work

  4. DVDs are divided into regions. A player plays only those DVDs that the player is programmed. You can change the setting on the player but this can be done only 5 times after which the last change is permanent. I understand that there are some third party softwares to overcome this problem. 5. India falls in DVD region code 5. Most of the old DVD's that were being sold in India were from region 5. However presently there are a lot of region 2 discs in the market. Maybe your DVD player can play only one region.

Unlike computers, you can't change region code in your DVD player. There are however hacks which can make some supported DVD players region free. This usually permits playing all the region discs in your player, but read the warranty paper properly before venturing into this.

Some old DVD players could only play NTSC or PAL video. If that is the case, buy the ones that your system can play and TV can support.

Another reason can be bad quality media. Try to use only good quality discs. There are hundreds of products that can clean old DVD's or can help you clean your player's lens but stay away from them. Most of them are damaging to the player.

  6. are some of the ones that dont work burned or bootleg? b/c if so thats why. some devices will not play bootleg cds or dvds, ones that are burned
