I had never heard of Brad Keselowski until this year when he showed up in Nationwide running for JR Motorsports.

I was wondering:

Where he was from?

His racing experience?

Anything else interesting about him?

  1. I got the same question as Tom G, What happened to Shane Huffman I liked him as a driver.

  2. This gives a good idea of how things transpired for Brad

Below is a brief section from the article:

Germain Racing tapped him to fill in for the suspended Ted Musgrave for a Craftsman Truck Series event at Memphis Motorsports Park, and the lanky 23-year-old won the pole and led 62 laps. That led to a phone call from Dale Earnhardt Jr., and the biggest break of his career.

Earnhardt hired Keselowski to drive the JR Motorsports No. 88 Busch car for three races, a stint that began with last Saturday's event at Chicagoland Speedway. The kid didn't disappoint, bringing the car home in 14th and in one piece, something the team owner places an emphasis on.

    He replaced Shane Huffman

  3. not sure where Jr found him I think he's from Michigan!! I think the kid is good so I can say I'm glad he did find him!!

  4. Growing up not far from Brad in Michigan, I've had the pleasure of seeing him race a few times locally and have met him a few times as well.

He started running trucks in 04 and Busch (Nationwide) in 07.  He took over the 88 car last August.  He's done well in everything he's ever driven and comes from a racing family.

  5. I remember him when he was running in a terrible, underfunded Nationwide team in 2006 and 2007 and he did impress me so it was no big shock when I seen him driving the Navy car. What I want to know is, what happened to Shane Huffman?

  6. Looks like the Keselowski question has been answered, more or less...

As for Huffman, I do believe that he has been doing some spotter/crew chief duties for one of the underfunded teams. I vaguely recall hearing that a couple months back...
