I've been told that I could acquire a certificate to allow me to be in a pre-school setting but would like to combine it with what I already have learned. Any suggestions as to classes to take??

I am looking at on-line courses at some colleges in the area. (I also have interests in photography (digital). Salary range?? Thanks in advance for your help.

  1. It depends on the preschool. To be a head teacher in a really nice school or one connected to the public schools, you would need an early childhood educatoin degree and teacher's license. However, most preschools you just need experience with children, or some require a CDA (teaching certificate) Universities offer degrees and post-bach programs, and you can check the NAEYC website for accreditation programs.

Salary is based on education and experience, as well as position. subs make anywhere from 7.50-10 per hr, associate teachers from there to 13, and head teachers from 13-20, but 20 would be at a public school level with a degree in EDEC, probably also in special education.

    Good luck, Hope this helps!
