Like when they go to get the puck, sometimes the referee makes one player switch with another wing. While your at it, can you tell me the specifics of offsides.

Thanks

  1. the refs kick them out if they are cheating

  2. get back in the science section........

its called cheating man...someone gets tossed out of the face off circle because of a violation.

    go test a tube

please dont take me seriously....not that i thought you would.

  3. Conduct of any face-off commences when the Official designates the place of the face-off and he takes up his position to drop the puck. As soon as the line change procedure has been completed by the Referee and he lowers his hand to indicate no further changes, the Linesman conducting the face-off shall blow his whistle. This will signal to both Teams that they have no more than five (5) seconds to line up for the ensuing face-off. At the end of the five (5) seconds (or sooner if both centers are ready), the Linesman will conduct a proper face-off. If, however...

       1. One or both centers are not positioned for the face-off,

       2. One or both centers refrain from placing their stick on the ice,

       3. Any player has encroached into the face-off circle,

       4. Any player makes physical contact with an opponent, or...

       5. Any player is in an off-side position,

the Linesman shall have the offending center(s) replaced immediately prior to dropping the puck.

  4. As far as the face off question is concerned the center man usually takes the face off. If he moves too quickly the linesman will throw him out and a winger takes the face off. Now off sides is a tiny bit tricky but basically the puck must cross the blue line before the player does. Now his teammates CAN have one skate over the blue line & 1 must be on the other side of the blue line. Thats why sometimes you will see his teammates  turn and skate along side the blue line until the player with the puck has the PUCK cross the blue line. Remember now in hockey it's the puck not your feet. So if a skate touches the blue line it's o.k. as long as the puck stays on  the blue line or the  other side of it. It is not like in Basket Ball or Football where if your foot touches the line around the perimoter it is out of bounds or whistled dead

  5. I'm pretty sure the ref switches the player if they are being way to aggressive .

    I'm not completely sure

well everyone is saying cheating, how can you cheat?

  6. As above usually the linesman tosses a player because he is "cheating".

As far as offsides, short & sweet: the puck must cross the blue line before BOTH skates of any offensive player. That's why you will often see them straddle the line.
