Or would you rather your favorite driver/team to do WHATEVER it takes to win a race??? Think about it....we rejoice when our favorites win....but what if they're caught cheating? Are you happy? Disappointed? Who cares they won! Let me know what you think.

  1. ROBBY GORDON NEEDS TO CHEAT!

No, I would be really pissed if he did and I would loose ALL respect for him because he knows what is going on with his team considering he's the only driver/owner in cup.

  2. Well obviously, noone wants to win because they CHEAT.

The thing about Nascar is that crews push the limit... there is a lot of grey area in between the black/white... so I think it just pushes the teams to get away with what they can to win.  When they get caught it turns into a very clear rule... "You can't do so and so..."

I think it makes a great crew chief when you can think of something to do that isn't necessarily "illegal"... yet

  3. it depends on what they do to cheat. Or even it's procedures. If it's done in good taste it could be quite admirable. In the old days of racing it would just be considered building a better race car. Today they need to be utilizing the advancements in technology and let NASCAR set themselves up

  4. Tony Eury Jr's too dumb to cheat he can't figure out the simple stuff so the 88 team won't be cheating any time soon>LOL

  5. As long as he don't get caught. :)

Of course, Kasey started off 2007 being caught, so who am I to say???

  6. As much as I want a win, I want an honest and hard fought victory. Cheaters, no matter how many wins they have are not remembered for their wins but for their cheating.

  7. If my driver cheats to win then I don't want him to win. Last year Tony Stewart made a statement about debris, NASCAR, and fuel strategy affecting the outcome of races. He said that's not the way he would have wanted it. He would rather win by racing and being the best car/driver. That's what I like about Anthony Wayne Stewart.

He's not like Dale Jr and get's mad and takes his anger out on someone like his crew Tony Eury Jr when it's really Dale Jr who tells him to make such crappy adjustments in the first place. Dale Jr races badly. h**l he hit the wall today out of lack of talent. That's why I am not his fan. I wont cheer for him ever either. It's called lack of ability and no passion or aggression.

If you also remember back when aggressive driving was being tightened down by NASCAR Tony was the one driver who basically told NASCAR to shove it. He doesn't come out to p***y foot around and settle for 10th or 15th, he wants to win. I mean I thought we came to watch a race, not have NASCAR dictate it and tell the drivers "don't race too hard, especially around Jr., he lost his dad. Be easy with him" He would rather race to win instead of trying to "get sum points" like Jr. That's why I like him. He's not a borefest, and not afraid to go against the grain and not be PC.

  8. of course i am. i would never allow any of my all-american mother-lovin' apple-pie-eatin' ford-drivin' boys to cheat, and if they did, i'd be very upset. especially if they did something like leave the only bolt that holds the oil tank lid shut a little loose or something. and i'd be even more upset if they got caught. the only cheaters around here drive ferrin' cars!!!

  9. Back in the day D.W.'s team used to drill his roll cage and fill it with buckshot to meet the weight requirements. When he was on the track, he had a little s***w in the driver's area that he could twist and release the buckshot onto the track. There was a lot of cheating going on back in the day- it's what made the racing fun to watch! I was in Daytona in 95 and Runt Pittman had put some kind of crazy exhaust into Sterling's car. The car sounded like an Indy car when it passed you and the thing was fast. Nascar never found anything illegal I don't think!

When Gary Nelson took the job with Nascar the transition began. He was one of the craftiest cheaters in the garage and Rusty Wallace won a lot of races with some of his tricks. The crews couldn't fool that guy- heck he came up with half the tricks anyway! I wish that Chad Knaus had been a crew chief back in the day- that guy could have come up with some pretty sneaky stuff.

Take the individuality out of the sport and the sport becomes just another waste of time. That's just my opinion.

  10. At the rate Kurt is going here lately I wouldn't mind see him do something. Soak the tires, put Sterno in the intake, throw banana peels out the window I dont care!! LOL, J/k. I wouldn't want my driver to win by a unfair advantage or something. But I'm sure they all push the limits sometime or another.

  11. If my driver cheats to win then I don't want him to win. A few years back Dale Earnhardt Jr made a statement about winning because of the rain. He said that's not the way he would have wanted it. He would rather win by racing. That's what I like about Dale Earnhardt Jr.

He's not like Kyle get's mad and takes revenge on someone because he looses his ride. Dale Jr races respectfully. That's why I am his fan. Be there till the end too. It's called class.

If you also remember back when aggressive driving was being tightened down by NASCAR he was the one driver who set a good example of being a courteous driver. He would rather race than cheat. That's why I like him.

  12. it would depend upon what you meant by "cheating." kyle's been penalized for failing a post-race inspection before - a "height" violation - after the first loudon race last year, and i don't consider that cheating. i think he's had a similar penalty in the past in the nationwide series - a post-race height thing.

and he and steven wallace were booted from the snowball derby last year in pensacola before it even began. kyle was hit with a height violation on a car that wasn't his, and steven was caught jamming sockets into his pockets trying to bring his cars weight up to the lower limit. now what kyle did was not know his car wasn't tall enough. what steven did was just silly, but endearing...

but yeah, i think i would be disappointed if kyle cheated in some overt way and got caught. i'd be disappointed that he had lost enough of his arrogance to think he needed to cheat, and then i'd be disappointed that he wasn't smart enough to do it without getting caught. but let me ask my lucky "horseshoe" to my left...

    ;-)
