  1. The first night/morning they get there, they call their parents or whoever they wish to call, 10 seconds max, to let them know they got there safely.

The second call may be the 3rd week or 4th, depending on whether their group (division) earned a call or not.

The third call if any, can be after Battle Stations around the 7th week of boot camp, their first week doesn't count towards boot camp because it's P Days processing days, so their actual boot camp first week begins the 2nd week they are at Great Lakes.

You don't have to wait for a phone call though, you can write to them every day, number your letters so they read them in that order and they can write to you every Sunday!

    Good luck!

  2. Check this Video out its very help full its all about Navy boot-camp planing to join me 2!

  3. When Boot is over...geez people it's Boot, unless they do things differently now....and I wouldn't be surprised!

    USMC 68 vietnam

  4. The only guaranteed phone call is when they first arrive that they will read off a script and literally goes "Recruit ___ has arrived safely at ___" *click* the Drill Instructor hangs up the phone. All the branches have the same call home when they first get there.

Other than that - phone calls are something rarely earned in basic training (the Navy does not have "boot camp"). The first one is the only guaranteed one.

  5. on upon arrival to say "I am here" all others must be earned.  My stepson wasn't allowed even to call on Christmas day.

  6. When it is done.

  7. first day, three weeks, seven weeks... if they earn it.
