In New York, if you have a learners permit, are you allowed to drive with underage kids in the car?

I have a learners permit. (this permits me to drive with someone who has their liscense and is atleast 21 years old in the car) My younget sister is 10 and I was wondering if I have my dad in the car, is my little sister also allowed to tag along?

  2. yes you can drive with minors as long as your with someone over the age of 21 and they have a licence in date!

  3. Yes, so long as you obey the law by having one person over 21, with a valid license in the vehicle.  You can have your little sis in the back seat and Dad in the front while you drive without breaking any laws.

    If you'd like, you can reference the NYS law ( http://public.leginfo.state.ny.us/menuge... ) by going to that web page and scrolling down until you find section "5. Learner's Permits".  Read up if you'd like, there are a few other laws in there as well, depending on your area of the state, you may not be able ti drive before 5AM or after 9AM even while supervised.  I did not find anything that restricts having other passengers in the vehicle, so long as you are accompanied by the proper licensed adult.
