I believe in Great Britain, as long as a child is over the age of five, it is legal for a parent to give said child alcohol within the home. I recently had a discussion with several individuals on the topic of alcohol, specifically regarding the relatively high drinking age in the U.S., and this question was raised, to which the answer was not known. Your answers are appreciated, any links as well.

  1. I don't know if it's legal...but in my opinion what you do in your home is your duty...and what you do with you kid in your home is the same thing

  2. It is illegal to give a minor any type of alcohol, in fact, you might want to consider reporting that police officer that gave you this advise to Internal Affairs IAD, as they are not doing their jobs, I would and in a New York second.

  3. Giving children alcohol. OMG. Someone call Family & Children.

  4. I think the question should be, why would a good parent want to?

  5. Last I heard that isnt legal in any state or country for that matter

  6. No, it is never legal in New York to give alcohol to anyone underage.  Even if it is the parent giving it to the child within their own home, it is not legal.

  7. .   Not legal but never prosecuted.
