  1. If God willed it, I'm not going to argue.

  2. No, I dont think they did.

  3. While the reason usually stated for the flood in church is because of evil people, that's just the sanitized explanation. If you read the story, the problem was that angels were coming down to Earth and having s*x, creating half-angel children, which God didn't like. God also would have killed plenty of children in the burning of Sodom and Gamorrah.

Besides, the God in the Old Testament was a prick. Asking Abraham to sacrafice his son as a practical joke? Tormenting Job for years just to prove a point with Satan? Denying Moses entry into the Promised Land just for striking his staff on a rock a second time when he didn't get a response the first time?

  4. I believe, as with many of the early Bible books and stories, this is a myth/legend/fable created by man to explain various aspects of this

world.  I do not take the Bible too literally.  I do not think God heaps

guilt on us.  That is us giving God human traits because we can't comprehend his existence otherwise.  God does not use human values

he/she is above that.  So, I guess my answer is no, I don't think they

all deserved to die.  But, I don't believe the entire world was flooded, either, maybe just the part where Noah lived.  Many ancient peoples attributed natural disasters to some type of deity.

  5. yes but only because god likes in breading.

    think about it

first there was adam and eve who had ten children who had...ew!

then there was a little too much genetic diversity to suit god so

bam! a flood and everyone but noah and his family survive to repopulate the planet ... among themselves...ew!

    god always kills the children

just think of one of the plagues of egypt, i'm sure there were some egyptian stone mason's son about 1yr old he didn't bother anyone nor did his father, he just wanted to get u in the morning and get a cup of joe on the way to the pyramid not bury his oldest son

then there's the children of sodom and gomorrah...

  6. This is rather like asking, "Did Horton really hear a Who?"

The story of Noah and the flood is no more true than Dr Seuss's book. It's a myth. The question of whether or not they deserved to die is therefore meaningless.

The interesting thing is that the followers of the Judeo-Christian god wrote the story because they clearly believe he is the sort of deity who is capable of genocide. Do you really want to sign up to be on his side?

  7. Yes they deserved it.  San Francisco is now ripe too.

  8. Not mine to judge, nor to question the reasons why
