I believe I might have been at fault, and the accident ended up killing too people, hurting me and another, and totaling both cars. I am eighteen and have had my license for a month and a half. What are the likely things I will be charged with and the consequences?

I was not on drugs, drinking or speeding. I believe I veered into the left lane (for some unkown reason, I can't remember the crash).

  1. This is not a question for an open forum.

You need to talk to a lawyer, yesterday.  This is very serious matter, even if you are not at fault, 2 people are dead, and 2 are injured.

  2. You are not telling the truth; I am a police officer and they would have charged you already for this offense either by magistrates summons or arresting you.  It doesn't take very long to investigate even accidents with death involved, and since you are on yahoo answers writing about it and not crying your eyes out scared of being in prison, I would say you are trying to pull chains.

But if you really did; you face involuntary manslaughter for each death, they won't charge you for the other injured person.  Your insurance company will cancel you for life.

  3. get a lawyer and stop posting about it. prison is a serious thing

  4. Unfortunately, this could be very, very serious.  Depending upon the circumstances, it could be vehicular manslaughter (2 counts), attempted vehicle manslaughter (for the injured other), reckless operations, plus a host of other violations.  Is it city police or county sheriffs or State Highway Patrol that's investigating?

I'm glad you're going to be physically ok.  I'd suggest you and your parents start looking for a lawyer for you now since you were the driver involved.  Good luck.
