  1. No, it just means that you acknowledge what the officer has told you. Regardless if you sign, you are still required to either pay the fine or appear in court.


  2. unfortunately, if you were doing one mile over the speed limit in the state of Ohio, you will be given a speeding ticket...as far as not being signed, it doesn't.  a ticket is an official document for the state. only city or county citations have to be signed by the issing officer because of the various jurisdictions, but a stae citation from a trooper does not because they are issued their citation books under their badge numbers--therefore, the state knows exactly who issued the ticket and that officer has to show up for court, unlike a deputy or police officer.  just pay the ticket so that it does not haunt you.  and as a piece of advise...stay away from OHIO...peace!
