  1. He can get just about anything he wants from either the BX, NEX or Commissary.

  2. Yeah, the base stores have all kinds of American food, clothes, and other products.  They have pretty much everything you'd be able to get at an American grocery store, and much of what you'd find in an American department store.  Given the large number of Americans living in Okinawa, American goods are more readily available even off base than they are in the rest of Japan.

Send your boyfriend whatever kind of thing you'd get him as a present in the US.  You know what he likes better than we do.  You could also ask him if there's anything in particular he would like that he can't get on base.

  3. In Japan, you can find most popular American items. Mainly the food items are altered and that is probably impossible to send to him. I'd send him things that are from your town or favorite places together. Like if you like the candle store up the street and you both love going there get him a scent that you both enjoy. Or a local place that is unique to your area. It should mean a lot to him. :)
