In Olympic swimming, is there a limit to how many events a competitor may enter? ?

Could Michael Phelps have entered more events if he desired to try? Or is there a limit of 8? Also, what are all of the swimming events? I know there are multiple distances and strokes but I'm not sure what all of the races are.

  1. no you can swim for as many as you qualify for.

    100,200 fly

    100, 200 back

    100, 200 breast

    100,200, 400 free

    200,400 IM

    4x200, 4x100 free relays

    4x100 IM relay

    but michael phelps rocked

    he is like my idol but even so he was so good at the olympics

  3. No limit, but he didn't enter more because he needs time to recover from one before competing in another.
