  1. You need four players to make a profit.  The key here is the expectation of being quartered because that may not be what happens and you perhaps win one-half the pot.

    Also, since there is already money in the pot as you are calling then you should make a profit.


  2. you need to have at least four other people putting the same amount of money in the pot as you...some of the dead money from folded hands will make up the difference when you add it all together, but still, you can see why getting quartered is something you'd like to avoid in omaha 8
