  1. Their pay cheque comes from the Ontario Health Insurance Plan.


  2. Doctors in Ontario work  for the OHIP government health insurance  plan. They are  paid  by the OHIP system, based on the fee schedule that is agreed upon by the OHIP plan and the Ontario Medical Association, which is the "Doctor's  Union ".

    Doctors submit their billing each month to OHIP,  by computer ,  and are paid 90 days later.
