I've heard the Latin Quarter is safe, but I only found hotel availability in Republique.

  1. I love staying in Republique.  It's a little "iffy" at night, but there are plenty of bars and cafes open and you could easily duck into one if you feel the need for a safe space.

  2. Of course yes, there is enough beautiful ladies to care about in Paris....

  3. All of Paris is safe for any woman who is accustomed to getting around on her own in big cities.  The biggest danger is pickpocketing.  Pretty women might get unwanted attention from local men but this is more annoying than dangerous.

  4. We've stayed in the Republique area many times...actually, several times. We stayed at the Republique Hotel and enjoyed ourselves, really weren't bothered at all.

The Republique area (near the Republique Statue) is quite nice. The Maya restaurant offers the best Italian-esque cuisine and heavenly desserts. I think it's on Rue de Magenta. There are a number of nice shops in the area...shoes, clothing, wedding dress boutique, grocery stores. There's even a McDonalds and a KFC if you get homesick for American fast food. Plus, there are a number of Metro stops in the Republique area.

Keep your wits about you, wear a money belt and act like you know what you're doing and where you're going, you'll be fine. But that holds true everywhere you go.
