In Paris - how much would a taxi be from gare du nord, to place d italie, is there a better way?

Well, the starting fare is 2.20 euros and the price per km is 00.86 euros (day) and 01.12 (night). There is a "waiting" charge per hour of 27.00 (day) and 31.00 (night) [i.e. time spent waiitng in traffic jams and at lights] and a charge of 1 euro per piece of luggage.

The distance between Garde du Nord and the Place d'Italie is 8.7 km. So figure (You might want to check my math) , assuming you don't run into traffic, that the charge will be roughly 10 euros (day) or 12 euros (night) plus any charge for luggage.

If you don't have a lot of luggage, just take Metro line #5. It goes directly from Gare du Nord to Place d' Italie.

The Metro is difficult to use with large luggage. In that case, I recommend taking a taxi. Sorry, but I'm not sure of the price.
