Our seats are right behind home plate and I wanted to know if there was a net that will be above us?

Thanks!

  1. There is not a net above the seats behind home plate. The net is just in front of the seats to protect the fans from fouls.

  2. Vertical net, basically a fence.  Best of both worlds.  Protection from those balls that come screaming back at you, but opportunity to catch a foul pop up.

Don't do anything stupid like sticking your fingers through the fence, you risk great harm.  If you are lucky enough to cath a foul, give the ball to a nearby kid.  he or she will appreciate it more than you ever will.  Better idea, let the kid catch it.

  3. Its in front and above the seats.  It goes up from the backstop and then over the seats for about half the rows back.

  4. The net will be in front of you, but not directly above you.

Wild pitches and foul tips can send a ball into the net at 100+ mph, that's why there is a net behind home plate. The net is only vertical, however, so any backwards pop-ups will be able to drop into the seats! It gives fans opportunities to catch foul balls, so I prefer nets that are only vertical and now actually above the seats.
