In Pokemon Gold all the pokemon have turned into Clefairy's, why?

Okay, so after I had beaten all second set of gym leaders (kanto gym leaders, that is) all pokemon seemed to turn into Clefairy's and all trainers, including the Elite Four which I beat again to confirm, were colored pink with Clefairy's.

Does anyone know why that is?

For addition, I am on the internet downloadable Pokemon.

in pokemon gold and silver, there have been lots of giltches in the game like when you do something normally, something happens. in pokemon gold and silver, many people saw the famous giltched pokemon, MisssingNo.  You might have a giltch.
