In Poker which straight is better A-5 or 2-6?

I need to know if the A-2-3-4-5 beats a straight like 2-3-4-5-6 cause it has the Ace in it???????

You can look at it like an ace can be high or low. In the A-5 straight (also known as The Wheel) it is acting low, or like a 1-5 straight. It is the lowest possible straight. If it were in a 10-J-Q-K-A straight, it would be acting high. Highest straight wins, therefore 2-6 trumps "1"-5.

When you are comparing straights, and assuming there is no straight flush, then the highest card determines the straight.

When you are talking about A2345, the ace is considered to be worth one, as in 12345.  So it is the lowest possible straight.  So any other straight beats it.

The best possible straight is TJQKA, where ace represents the best possible face card.

An ace works for both the high and the lowest possible straight.

2-6 is the stronger straight because A-5 is a "five high straight" whereas 2-6 is a "six high straight".

Only if you're playing hi-lo or some other game where a "wheel" has a special value.  ("Wheel" is the common name given to A-2-3-4-5.)

In any regular poker game, when using the ace as "one" or a low card, it's just that - low.  2-3-4-5-6 (or a 6-high straight) beats A-2-3-4-5 (or a 5-high straight).

When you play Chinese's 13-card poker, this has to be verified and agreed upon before the game, for it's different from players and locations etc.... Other than that, all other forms of poker will generally take 1-5 as lowest value of straight.

This is all true however if the A-5 straight is the same suit and the 2-6 isn't then the suited straight (straight flush) will win.
