Ok, what do you do if?

You are playing pool, you have 3 balls including the black ball behind the D. Its your opponents turn... he DELIBERATLY shoots the cue ball into a pocket. I then have to hit forward, yet all my balls are behind? Is this legit? Because if i hit forward trying to bounce the ball back and hit my balls, i will most likely miss, giving him 2 shots?

Surely, it is a automatic loss of game for him! or Ball in Hand shot for me?

Please explain this situation, and how i can convince my opponent that I dont have to keep on hitting forward from the D!

He does this every game I play him in! plz help.

AND THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! I NEED A LINK TO A WEBSITE WHICH CONFIRMS THAT YOUR ANSWER IS FACTUAL. OR OTHERWISE HE STILL WON"T BELIEVE ME! eg like a www.poolrules.com.au or somthing

THanks for your help, if you reply well, i give u 5 stars

Even if you have to play from the D after your opponent deliberately pots the cue ball, you get two shots as well. In the meantime, work on your kicking skills.

  2. The only pool rules I know that require you to play from the D are british pub rules and it is rule 7c you should be concerned with. All other rules I have encountered only have a baulk line and not the D.

    7. Loss of Game [back to top]

    (c) A player who clearly fails to make any attempt to play a ball of his/her own group will lose the game.

I've never played Australian Rules 8 Ball. The best I can do here is to provide you with a few links to websites, explaining the official rules of Australian 8 ball.

If you are playing BCA rules: Deliberately shooting the cue ball into a pocket is a FOUL ---giving your opponent cue ball in hand ANYWHERE on the table.

If you are playing bar or house rules: Your opponent has taken the easy way out by shooting a "sacrifice foul". The result is that you must shoot from behind the "D" (as you call it) and shoot forward --- attempting a "kick shot" to contact one of your balls, and then contact a rail with ANY ball. Part of your opponent's strategy is defensive, while part of his strategy is weak.

I suggest that you look at the rules provided in the links I posted above.

Start parcticing your kick-shots and work on a better strategy to alleviate getting yourself in this position, if indeed he is correct. I cannot be sure, as I'm not sure what rules you are playing with in your game(s).

    Good luck.

  4. World standard rules  That is a ball in hand foul you can shoot from anywhere on the table
